Everett Steven was born November 5, 1920 at Sexton, Iowa to Harvey and Anna (Wermersen) Steven. Everett graduated from Algona High School and lived most of his life in Sexton. He was a farmer by occupation. On October 4, 1942, Everett was united in marriage to Doris Genrich in LuVerne. Doris died on January 7, 1974. Everett retired in 1984 and moved into Algona.
Everett enjoyed fishing as a hobby. He was a member of the First United Methodist Church in Algona, Prudence Lodge #205 A.F & A.M., Algona Chapter of Eastern Star, and Abu Bekr Shrine Club.
Everett died on Thursday, May 20, 2004 at the Titonka Care Center in Titonka where he had been a resident since March 2000. He was 83.
Survivors include his daughter Anne Kiess and husband Robert of Algona, sons Richard Steven and wife Diane of Colorado Springs, Colorado and Craig Steven and wife Debra of Lakota. Also surviving are seven grandchildren and three great grandchildren. Everett was preceded in death by his parents, his wife Doris, brothers, Lloyd, Wilbur and Leo and sisters Pearl Hodgin and Wilma Steven.
