Carolyn Catherine Weydert was born May 10, 1916, in West Bend, Iowa, the daughter of Theodore and Margaret Eischen Faber. She grew up in West Bend and later graduated from West Bend High School. After her schooling she worked for a short time at the Grotto.
On August 23, 1943, Carolyn was united in marriage to Nicholas Weydert in West Bend, Iowa. After their marriage the couple lived on the family farm until moving into Algona in February of 1971.
Carolyn was a member of St. Cecelia Parish, Catholic Daughters of America Court St. Cecelia #283, past member of the St. Joseph Catholic Daughters of America, both of which she was a past Grand Regent. She enjoyed gardening, flowers, playing cards and traveling.
Carolyn died on Saturday, October 30, 2004, at the Good Samaritan Communities in Algona at the age of 88.
