Lillian Sobek

Lillian Genelle Sobek was born October 4, 1918 in rural Corwith, Iowa, daughter of George C. and Effie B. (Karney) Hanson. Lillian grew up in the Kanawha area and graduated from the Kanawha High School. Lillian married Gordon Sobek on March 24, 19____, at _______________ . They farmed near Ventura, Iowa for many years until moving back in the early 1950's and farming northeast of Renwick. Following her husband's death in 1967, Lillian moved into Renwick where she worked at the Renwick Hardware Store. Lillian enjoyed reading, sewing, gardening, and doing craftwork. Lillian G. Sobek died Friday, December 31, 2004, at USA Healthcare Center, Clarion, Iowa, at the age of 86. She is survived by two daughters, Vicki Neuberger, Owatonna, MN, and Linda Sobek, Renwick; one grandson, David Neuberger and his wife Pam, Lakeville, MN; and two great-grandchildren, Samantha and Kyle Neuberger, both of Lakeville, MN. She was preceded in death by her parents; her husband Gordon on December 4, 1967; and one brother, Arlen Hanson. [more]
