Ledyard - Glenn F. Burtis, 88, of Corwith, formerly of Ledyard, died Wednesday, June 1, 2005, at Muse Norris Hospice Inpatient Unit, Mason City.
A funeral service will be held Monday at 10:30 AM at Sacred Heart Catholic Church, Ledyard with Reverend Mr. Phil Doocy officiating. Burial will be in Highland Home Cemetery, Ledyard with military honors provided by Matzener-Estle American Legion Post # 675, of Ledyard.
Visitation will be from 3 to 6 PM Sunday at Garry-Roberts-Murphy-Schaaf Funeral Home, Bancroft and will continue one hour prior to the service at the church on Monday.
Glenn F. Burtis was born January 10, 1917, near Lone Rock, son of Merritt and Laura (Parsons) Burtis. He married Betty Davis of June 21, 1945 in Elmore, Minnesota.
He is survived by his wife, Betty, Corwith; two children, Sharon Ehrich, Corwith, and Ronald Burtis of Hampton; six grandchildren; 13 great-grandchildren; and many nieces and nephews.
He was preceded in death by his parents; two sisters, Zela Dale and Nila Behrends; four brothers, Cecil, Verle, Ivan, and Kermit Burtis; and a daughter-in-law, Betty Burtis
