James Pud Panter, age 76, of Winchester, passed away Saturday, March 7, 2009. He was born October, 2, 1932 in Paint Rock Valley, AL; the son of the late Murphy Alexander Panter and Jessie Beatrice Atnip Panter. He worked for many years as a contractor in the dry wall business. He is preceded in death by his wife, Shirley Jean Panter, his brother, Lois Panter and his sisters, Lucille Morris and Mabel Campbell. He is survived by his fianc, Mary Wimbley, his son, Ricky Panter of Winchester, his daughters, Pamela Panter of Winchester, Cathy Stovall of Cowan, and Lisa Panter of Estill Springs. Also surviving him are his grandchildren, Amy Powell of Huntland, April Panter of Winchester, Chad Stovall of Anchorage, Alaska, Emily Rushton of Salt Lake City, Utah, Jessy Panter of Winchester, Alicia Terry of Estill Springs, his great-grandchildren, Haley and Luke Powell of Huntland, and Brandon Panter of Winchester, and is sisters, Beatrice Fowler of Huntland, June Prince of Huntland, Juanita Hendon of Scottsboro, and Sue Panter of Winchester.
