Merlin M. Schumacher

Merlin Michael Schumacher was born August 21, 1938, in Algona, Iowa, the son of Louis and Geraldine Sheppard Schumacher. He attended school in Algona and in 1956 he graduated from St. Cecelia's Academy. He went onto attend AIB in Des Moines and after graduating he worked several years in Des Moines before being transferred to Oklahoma City, Oklahoma. While in Oklahoma City he became an insurance agent and began his own State Farm Agency. He loved his family and enjoyed watching and following Notre Dame football and collecting tractors. Merlin died Wednesday, September 20, 2006, at Deaconess Hospital in Oklahoma City, Oklahoma. He was 68 years old.
