ommittee and the RAGBRAI organization committee. In 2006, Alice was one of four people to receive the initial Heritage Award for the Founders Day Celebration. She held several county, district and state positions in the Democratic Party; and was currently serving as Kossuth County's Vice Chair. She served on the Election Board and the Kossuth County Zoning Commission. She also enjoyed being a member of the Red Hat Ladies. Alice enjoyed cooking for all of her family, playing cards, traveling, yardwork and gardening, but her greatest joy was her family. She enjoyed having her grandchildren come and visit and she also enjoyed watching them participate in all of their activities. Alice died on Tuesday, October 24, 2006, at the Kossuth Regional Health Center in Algona, Iowa. She was 67. Alice is survived by her children, Larry Loss, Urbandale, IA, Marcia Parrish and husband Leigh, Algona, IA, David Loss and wife, Denise, Algona, IA, Patrice Ostwald and husband, Tom, Johnston, IA and Michael Loss and wife, Kelly, Omaha, NE. Also surviving are 9 grandchildren, her mother Frieda Geitzenauer, Algona, IA and her brothers and sisters, Gerald Geitzenauer and wife, Marge, Greene, IA, Dennis Geitzenauer and wife, Janeice, Dakota City, IA, Bonnie Vogelgesang, Hutchinson, KS, Judy Baker and husband, Roger, Lowell, IN, Douglas Geitzenauer and wife, Becky, Hutchinson, KS and Nancy Henderson, Fenton, IA. She was preceded in death by her father and her husbands.
