Steve Samuel Cowan

Steve Samuel Cowan, age 57 of Cowan, passed away on Thursday, December 1, 2016 at Southern Tennessee Regional Health Systems in Winchester. A native of Franklin County, he was born on November 13, 1959. Steve served in the United States Navy before returning home to farm. He loved hunting, fishing, and refinishing guns. Steve is preceded in death by his father, John S. Cowan. He is survived by his wife, Kathy Cowan of Cowan; mother, Carlotta Pickney of Winchester; son, Scott (Jessica) Cowan of Winchester; daughter, Mandy (Jeff) Steeley; step-son, John Hill of Winchester; step-daughter, Jamie Hill of Pelham, grandchildren, Mattison, Mason, Skylar, Charley, Isabella, Danika, Jayse, Lucy, and Jacoby; brother, Mark (Penny) Cowan of Cowan; sister, Gail (David) Gipson of Fayetteville; and a host of nieces, nephews, and other relatives. Visitation will be at Moore-Cortner Funeral Home from 12-3 PM Saturday, December 3, 2016 with funeral services following at 3:00 PM. Interment will be at Franklin Memorial Gardens.[more]
