Joann Jones Steel, age 69 of Decherd, passed away on Tuesday, March 28, 2017 at the Willows of Winchester. She was born on September 29, 1947 in Swaim, Alabama. Joann is preceded in death by her father, Marvin Milton Jones; brothers, Joseph Donald Jones, and John Reuben Jones; and daughter, Bethany Sharon Wardell. She is survived by her son, Myron (Stacie) Bates of Decherd; daughter, Paula Jane Fanning of Tennessee; mother, Geneva Oliver Jones of Winchester; brother, Ernest Paul Jones of Winchester; sister, Martha Jane Rinner of Flintville; grandchildren, Megan Wardell, Mia Wardell, Marc Wardell, Morgan Wardell, Adam Gifford, Andrew Gifford, James Fanning, Kayla Doney, and Kasey Benson; six great-grandchildren; and a host of nieces, nephews, and cousins. Visitation will be from 11 AM-1 PM Thursday, March 30, 2017 at Moore-Cortner Funeral Home. Funeral Services will follow at 1:00 PM in the Moore-Cortner Chapel with Rev. Rudy Wilkerson officiating.
