James Leon Franklin, age 66 of Winchester, passed away on Wednesday, September 20, 2017 at Southern Tennessee Regional Health Systems. A native of Franklin County, he was born on September 1, 1951 to the late Jim Tom Franklin and Dorothy J. Franklin. James was employed as a carpenter and enjoyed fishing and hunting, as well as his dogs. He will be remembered as being caring and outgoing with a great personalityand as a great friend. James was saved and knew Jesus Christ as his personal Savior. In addition to his father, James is preceded in death by his sister, Patty Franklin (infant); and grandparents, Thomas Odell Franklin and Mattie Mae Franklin. Survivors include his mother, Dorothy J. Franklin of Winchester; sister, Linda Ashby of Winchester; brothers, Jimmy Franklin of Winchester, Allen Franklin of Winchester, and Marty Franklin of Manchester; and several nieces and nephews. Visitation will be from 11 AM-1 PM Friday, September 22, 2017 at Moore-Cortner Funeral Home. Funeral Services will follow at 1:00 pm in the Moore-Cortner Chapel with Bro. Jim Hawkins and Bro.
