Lorraine Kersey, 82, of Burlington, died at 9:24 AM Wednesday, October 4, 2017, at the Great River Medical Center in West Burlington.
Born September 4, 1935, in Monmouth, IL, she was the daughter of Patrick and Erma Ethel Sanders Kersey. In 1953, she married Carl Payne; they later divorced. In 1975, she married Buford "Cotton" Johnson; they later divorced. She then married Don Holbert; they later divorced.
She worked as a nurse's aid, teacher's aid, and factory worker. She also worked in several hospice facilities.
She enjoyed collecting porcelain dolls, talking on the phone and spending time with her sisters. She also enjoyed spending time with her grandchildren and taking care of people. She liked to fish. She would do anything for anybody. Lorraine had a very big heart and you could always count on her.

She is preceded in death by her parents, two infant brothers, two infant sisters, Carl, Cotton, and Don.
Visitation will be from 12:00 PM until 4:00 PM with the family to receive friends from 2:00 PM until 4:00 PM Sunday, October 8, 2017 at Prugh~Thielen Funeral Home.
The funeral service for Ms. Kersey will be 10:00 AM Monday, October 9, 2017, at Peace Lutheran Church with Reverend Kathleen Wohlers officiating. Burial will be in Gerlaw Cemetery.
In lieu of flowers, a memorial has been established.
