Terri A. Schiltz, 56, of Dubuque, passed away Wednesday, October 4, 2017 at Finley Hospital.
Services will be at 10:00 a.m. Tuesday, October 10th, 2017, at the church adjacent to Hoffmann Schneider & Kitchen Funeral Home. Rev. Karen Candee will officiate. Burial will be in Linwood Cemetery. Friends may greet the family and pay respects from 3 p.m. to 8 p.m. on Monday, October 9th, at Hoffmann Schneider & Kitchen Funeral Home, 3860 Asbury Rd., Dubuque.
Terri was born April 10, 1961 in Dubuque, the daughter of James and Genevieve (Ward) Schiltz. She graduated from Hempstead High School with the class of 1980. Terri was employed at Sunnycrest Manor for many years where she cooked and cared for the residents. She formed many special friendships with staff and residents, and was loved by all those around her. She was disabled in 2001 as a result of a car accident.
Terri loved camping at Albrecht Acres every year, where she would spend the time there doing amazing activities. She loved her Cozy Corner family, including Bob and Mariko, and looked forward to spending time with them everyday and even on the weekends for outings. Ter...[more]
enjoyed collecting and wearing jewelry, and always looked her best no matter where she was going. Terri was devoted to her family and friends, and loved family get-togethers and holidays.
Terri is survived by her sister, Sandra Schiltz, her brother, Gerald Pins; two nephews, Kristopher and Andrew Schiltz; and her great nephew, Taylor Schiltz. Also by Frank Erickson and Ryan Driscoll, who she considered her family.
She was preceded in death by her parents; her niece, Jennifer Schiltz; and brother-in-law Don Engler.
The family would like to thank all those individuals who made a difference in Terri's life over the years. Her physicians, Dr. Hillard Salas and Laura Garms who took wonderful care of her health over the years. Her Cozy Corner family, who enriched her life everyday. Connie Murphy her social worker, who worked tirelessly for Terri's best interests. Vicki Zuber, her CNA and friend, who made sure Terri always looked her best. The staff at Finley who cared for Terri, especially during her final moments with us. Any many, many more.
Terri was a beautiful soul and touched the hearts of all who met her. She will be greatly missed and never forgotten.
