was a former member of the Knights of Columbus. He loved time spent with his family traveling to Florida for vacations.
Survivors include four daughters; Gwen Baker of Atlanta, GA, Laura (Rick) Mellinger and Amy Schroeder-Klein both of Burlington and Jill Schroeder of Virginia; two sons, Gregory (Lory) Schroeder and Dan (Tara) Schroeder both of Burlington; seventeen grandchildren; six great-grandchildren; one brother, Lyle "Cliff" (Judy) Schroeder of Virginia; brother-in-law's, George (Margaret) Landgraff and Dr. John Amdor both of IA; his ex-wife Judy (Tom) Knoll of Burlington; special friend Cathy Fleming of Burlington and several nieces and nephews.
He was preceded in death by his parents, and five sisters.
The Memorial Mass of the Resurrection will be 10:30 a.m. Thursday, October 12th at Divine Mercy Parish - SS Mary & Patrick Catholic Church. The Very Rev. Father Marty Goetz will be the celebrant. The rosary will be recited at 10:00 a.m. Thursday, October 12th before mass. The Des Moines County Resurrection Choir will provide music. A private family inurnment will be held at Sacred Heart Cemetery. Visitation will be from 4:00 until 7:00 p.m. Wednesday, October 11th at Lunning Chapel where the family will receive friends.
