Kenneth "Ken" Dolby

Kenneth "Ken" Dolby, 76, of Davenport, Iowa, passed away Thursday, Oct. 5th, 2017 at Genesis East, Davenport. A Celebration of Ken's Life will be held on Thursday, October 12th at 6:30pm at the Davenport American Legion, 702 W. 35th Street, where military honors will be presented. Memorials may be made to Combat Veteran's Motorcycle Association Chapter 39-A 6140 N. Linwood Ave Davenport, Iowa 52806. Weerts Funeral Home, Davenport, is assisting his family with arrangements. Ken was born in Mercer, PA in 1940, to George & Lois Dolby. He served with the U.S. Army from 1964-1966 & served 1 tour in Vietnam with the Big Red 1. Upon returning from Vietnam in 1965, he married Rachel Backhaus & later had three children. In 1996, he married Connie Delong, in Menomonie, WI. He retired as Master Technician for 3M in 2001. Ken served as Past Master for the Masonic Lodge, in Waverly, IA, & was a Shriner; past President of Vietnam Veterans of America, Chapter 331 in WI. He was a member of the D.A.V.; American Legion; VFW & the NRA. He also instructed Dale Carnegie workshops. He loved hunting & fishing, NASCAR & sprint car races, & cooking.
