a way to stay active. Bob was a member of Toastmasters International from 1987-1997. He served as Nora Club president and received his Competent Toastmaster in 1989. He was Governor of District H in 1992-1993, Governor of Area 24 twice, District 11 Lieutenant Governor of Marketing 1994-95, Lieutenant Governor of Education and Training in 1995-96 and received his Distinguished Toastmaster award in March, 1996. He was a board member of the Indiana Poultry Association 1984-86, Served on the board of directors for Robin Run Retirement Community 1996-2002, was a longtime member of St. Luke's United Methodist Church and served on their Board of Trustees 1994-97. Bob was a member of the Capital City Lodge #312, Free and Accepted Masons, the Indianapolis Valley Scottish Rite. He served as a board member and Development Chair for the Progress House from 2005-2007, and very active with Bicycle Indiana. In 2012, Bob ran for Pike Township Trustee and enjoyed his political campaign. Bob loved life and everything it had to offer. His family and friends were always his priority and greatly cherished. He loved playing tennis, riding his bike, yoga, movies with friends and a great poker game. He was a member of the Senior USTA League National Tennis Champions in 2006 and completed the Hilly Hundred Bike ride over ten times with his last completion in 2014. He also rode in several long distance events including the Ragbrai, a seven day 468 mile ride across Iowa, in 2010. Bob was a great friend and supporter to many. His larger than life personality, smile, love, laughter, strength and positive attitude are dearly missed. A Celebration of Life Service will be on October 16th.. Gathering from 12:30-2:00. Service at 2:00pm at St. Luke's United Methodist Church with burial following at Crown Hill Cemetery. In Lieu of flowers, contributions may be made to the Indianapolis Wheeler Mission, The Progress House of Indianapolis and Good News Ministries of Indianapolis.
