rement. A friend, Garwin McNeilus contacted Duane to do a 6 week job excavating, which turned into 12 years of work, retiring again at age 78. They lived at Realife Cooperative where he enjoyed playing cards, dinners and happy hours with friends and neighbors. While living at Realife Cooperative Duane drove the shuttle van giving another opportunity to serve and socialize with fellow residents. Duane also enjoyed riding his bike to Pine Island, where Lois would meet him at the end of the Douglas Trail. Duane was a member of Bethel Lutheran Church. Duane is survived by his son, Ronald (Carol) Jeglum of Stewartville, MN and his daughter, Kathleen Girard of Rochester, MN; grandchildren, Christin (Pete) Semmen, Beth (Josh) Buckmeier, and Trisha (Derrick) Bly. Lisa (Tim) Ripley, Edward and Paul Girard. Stepchildren, Ronald (Marilou) Larson of Land O'Lakes FL, Karen (Bob) Anderson of LaVista, NE, Judy (Tim) Baringer of Loveland, CO, Patricia (Milo Walters) Mensing of Dodge Center, MN and JoAnne's children, David (Linda) Crawley, Jim (Sue) Crawley, Jenni (Tom) Wobig and Jody (Dale) Lee; several grandchildren and great grandchildren; one sister, Phyllis (Maurice) Witter of Rochester, MN and one brother-in-law, Duane Smith of Austin, MN. He was preceded in death by his wife, Lois; parents; and one sister, Darlene. His family would especially like to thank Dr. David Bell of Mayo Clinic, the nursing staff at The Bluffs of Lake City and all staff at St. Croix Hospice for the love and compassion that was given to Duane during his final days.
