On December 9, 1967, Roger was united in marriage with the love of his life, Bonnie Marie Clark at the Sacred Heart Church in Osage, Iowa. The couple was blessed with two children, Dan and Susan.
Roger loved to golf with his wonderful friends and had fun playing in tournaments. In the spring time he enjoyed walking through the woods hunting for morel mushrooms. Roger was taught by his parents how to play cribbage, a game he enjoyed. He taught many nieces and nephews the game, and he was not easily beaten. Roger and Bonnie were members for several years in a 500 card club and enjoyed playing with their friends each month. Roger was an avid Hawkeye & Cubs fan.
In the summer and fall, Roger and many family members shared a lot of fond memories at Edgewild Resort in Minnesota: fishing, storytelling, playing cards and lots of fish frys. In the winter, Roger liked to take trips with Bonnie to Arizona and spend time exploring around the state, golfing, and spending time with their daughter, Susan.
Roger was a very talented woodworker, and taught this skill to his son, Dan. Over the years, Roger and Bonnie made several fun crafts and Christmas decorations for family members.
Roger was a man devoted to his family, a hard worker with a strong faith, who had a gift for storytelling that he passed on to his son Dan. Roger prayed the rosary each morning, and had a sincere love of this devotion. Roger passed on the 100th anniversary of Our Lady of Fatima.
