Willard Duane Maaske, Sr. 73, of Sioux City, passed away Saturday, October 14, 2017 at a local hospital. Services will be held 1:00 pm, Thursday, October 19, 2017 at Waterbury Funeral Service of Sioux City. A visitation will be held from 4-8 with family present from 6-8 and a prayer service at 7:00 pm, Wednesday, October 18, 2017 at the funeral home. Burial will be at Memorial Park Cemetery.
Duane was born on July 22, 1944 in Sioux City, the son of Harold and Valeria (Pixler) Maaske. He graduated from Central High School in 1965. Duane married Patsy Nelson.
Duane worked for Sioux Plating Company, retiring from there after many years of service. He liked to go camping, play Bingo, loved going to the races, and was a Nebraska Football fan. Growing up, Duane enjoyed playing sports and later, he enjoyed attending any and all sports activities he could, in the Siouxland area, but especially to watch his children and grandchildren play. His wife, Patsy, was the most important part of his life. Duane would visit her daily at Westwood Nursing Home.

nd Mary (Ricky Hartnett) Maaske; brothers, William (Terri) Maaske and Leonard (Cookie); nine grandchildren; and one great grandchild, with one on the way.
Duane was preceded in death by his parents; three sisters, Kay, Montie, and Nina; and two brothers, Bob and Ken.
