Burial - East Lawn Cemetery, Algona IA Helen Virginia Geilenfeld was born on September 6, 1923, at Plum Creek Township near Algona, Iowa, to Walter Henry and Leola Evelyn (Dally) Zentner. Helen graduated from Algona High School and was married to Kenneth H. Geilenfeld on November 11, 1942. Helen worked at Dr. Shirck's office and later for Geilenfeld-Murphy-Schaaf Funeral Home providing telephone answering service. She also managed Kossuth Mini Storage in Algona. Helen enjoyed golfing, woodworking, painting and card playing. She was an avid sports fan, enjoying basketball as well as any sport her grandchildren played. Helen also enjoyed spending time with her grandchildren and great grandchildren, her garden and flowers. She was a member of Trinity Lutheran Church, the Hospital Auxiliary, the River Road Golf Club and various card clubs including Round Robin. Helen became a resident of the Good Samaritan Society - Algona center in July 2002, and died there on Friday afternoon, October 19, 2007, at the age of 84. Also surviving are 10 grandchildren, 10 great grandchildren and one sister Jacqueline and husband James Kelley of Algona. Helen was preceded in death by her parents, her husband Ken on December 2, 1991, sister Barbara Riley and brother Bruce.
