Rod Lee Bradway age 41, of Indianapolis. Beloved husband, father, son, brother, grandson, uncle, nephew and friend was called home to be with the Lord on September 20, 2013. He loved his wife and children with all of his heart and was an amazing husband and father. Rod died doing what he loved, serving the citizens of Indianapolis. He never thought of himself as a hero, he was grateful to be doing something that he loved. He was a public servant who demonstrated courage, bravery, compassion, honor and integrity throughout his life. Rod comes from a family with a strong public safety background. Rod started his career at Wayne Township Fire Department as a Firefighter/EMT for 10 years before joining IMPD in 2007. As well as be being an IMPD officer, he was actively involved in animal rescue groups, the Boy Scouts, Decatur Central Marching Band and IHSAA soccer and basketball officiating. Also surviving are a host of other relatives, friends, his Indianapolis Metropolitan Police Department family and Wayne Township Fire Department family.
