James B. Cartwright (Jim), 89, of Indianapolis, passed away on July 22, 2016 in Indianapolis. James was born in Indianapolis to Britton Theran and Mary B. (Bailey) on November 6, 1927. He married Charlesetta (Charlie) on November 6, 1948 in Indianapolis. He attended Oakwood College. He worked for Chrysler for 45 years retiring in 1989. He was a veteran of WWII and served in the US Army. He has been a member of the Capitol Avenue and now Capitol City Church in Indianapolis, Indiana for 75 years. He also enjoyed camp meeting, travel with his wife, bowling leagues, and short wave radio CB’s where his handle was “Loco Joe.” James is preceded in death by his son James Britton “JB” Cartwright and his daughter Donna Jean Howard along with his siblings and parents. James is survived by his wife of 68 years Charlesetta Cartwright, his granddaughter Dr. Nikki Woodson, his grandson Mr. Richard Simons III, his daughter’s husband Mr. Kevin Howard, great-grandchildren and numerous other relatives.
