Glen G. Kollasch
Glen was born June 8, 1930 in Whittemore, IA to Frederick and Gertrude (Kaschmitter) Kollasch He graduated top of his class in 1948 from Presentation Academy in Whittemore Iowa. A few years later he entered the U.S. Air Force in 1952 and served until November 1955. After his military service he pursued a career spanning 30 years as a water well-driller where he was partners in Virgil P. Elbert Well Drilling. In July 1972 he married the love of his life Alice Smith of Emmetsburg, Ia. His hobbies included a deep love for music, playing baseball, fishing, reading books, and most importantly his family. Glen also had a passion for community service where he served as president of the American Legion Post 425, president of the St Michael Holy Name, Whittemore City Council Member, Song Leader and Choir member of St. Michaels Catholic Church of Whittemore, St. Joseph's in Milford and St. Mary's in Solon, Iowa. He was preceded in death by his Parents: Fred and Gertrude Kollasch; his siblings Howard Kollasch and Msgr. Louis Kollasch; his in-laws: Frank and Ada Smith, Ernst Pergande and Martin Smith.
