Margaret J. Spear

Burial: St. Paul Lutheran Cemetery ~ Lakota, Iowa Margaret Josephine Spear was born April 27, 1910 in Lakota, Iowa daughter of Carl and Bertha (Deeg) Trump. She grew up in Lakota graduating from Lakota High School in 1928. She then helped her father on the family farm. Margaret was united in marriage to Dick Spear on November 16, 1935 in Algona. They lived in Lakota for a few years and then farmed in the Lakota, Swea City and Bancroft area moving into Bancroft in 1976. Dick preceded her in death on April 9, 1977. Margaret was a very hard working lady. She spent a lot of her time outside tending to her garden, mowing her lawn, and shoveling her own snow. Margaret loved being with her family especially her grandchildren. In earlier years she enjoyed roller skating and taking bus trips with her friends. She was a member of St. Paul Lutheran Church in Lakota. Margaret J. Spear died Friday, December 26, 2008 at the Titonka Care Center at the age of 98. She had been a resident there since December, 2001.
