Reginald A. DuValle 82, Indianapolis, was born on April 7, 1927 and passed away on Friday January 22, 2010. He graduated from Jordan College of Music and served as Assistant Band Director at Florida A&M University prior to teaching instrumental music for 37 years in Indianapolis Public Schools. As one of the area's leading trombonists, "Reggie" performed with numerous local groups and national acts such as Lionel Hampton, Marvin Gaye, Slide Hampton, and Dizzy Gillespie. He additionally served as Vice President of Indianapolis Musicians Local #3, and volunteered with the Indianapolis Brass Choir and the Phillips Music Guild for decades. He was a member of Witherspoon Presbyterian Church, Kappa Alpha Psi Fraternity, and the Enright Social Club. He is survived by 2 sisters, Doris Rasdall and Norma Smith; 3 sons, Reginald A. (Collette), Gregory L. and Michael V. (Celesta) DuValle; 5 grandchildren and 1 great grandchild.
