LeRoy Thompson

LeRoy Eugene Thompson was born on December 29, 1916, on a farm near Eagle Grove, Iowa to Lars and Blanche (Biondahl) Thompson. He received his education in the country school system. On July 22, 1938, LeRoy was married to Grace Izel Egemo at Badger, Iowa. To this union, 13 children were born. LeRoy farmed in the Renwick and Hardy area for over 70 years. He had a corn shelling business for several years. LeRoy enjoyed working and repairing his cars and pickups. He also had rental houses in Eagle Grove, Fort Dodge and Renwick that he enjoyed working on. He also participated in tractor pulls, his sons' 4-H projects and had a cabin in Park Rapids, Minnesota that the family enjoyed. LeRoy was a member of the St. Paul Lutheran Church in Renwick. LeRoy passed from this life on Tuesday, November 17, 2009, at the Paula J. Baber Hospice Home in Fort Dodge, Iowa. He was 92.
