Ernest Stanley (Stan) Moorhouse of Estill Springs was born in Chicago, IL, on August 12, 1928. He served as a Corporal in the U.S. Army 1946-49, and Air Force Reserve 1949-1952. Stan graduated on the Deans List with a BA in Philosophy from Saint Josephs College in East Chicago, IN, in 1971. He worked as a police officer, welder, for the U.S. Post Office, and maritime officer on the Great Lakes. His passion was to one day go to law school. He was the most avid reader, and probably studied more law than most attorneys. Stan was a well-loved man who enjoyed nature, had a heart for animals (often finding homes for animals in need). He had a strong passion for the U.S. Constitution and for peoples rights. Member of the ACLU and the Democratic party. He will be greatly missed by his four children, Susan Hagan of Arizona, MaryAnn Hougendobler of Texas, Scot Moorhouse of Estill Springs, Carol Milkins of Illinois. He is also survived by eight grandchildren, step grandchildren, and great grandchildren. He has two surviving older brothers; Bob and John. rted his children and strongly promoted education because he believed in the investment of people. He was known for being a free-spirit, for his passion for life, for his utmost integrity, for being a voracious reader, and for his dry sense of humor. He was extremely goal-oriented, generous to a fault, not afraid to take on challenges. He had great strength, both physically and mentally. Strong personality and loved to talk to everyone and share his knowledge. Stan went to Heaven on April 2nd. A private service will be held in the summer.
