Kenneth Doyle Cowan, Sr. was born on January 24th, 1934 in Decherd, Tennessee. Kenneth graduated from Franklin County High School in 1952. After his graduation, he served 20 years in the Army National Guard. Kenneth was a lifelong Mason and member of the Scottish Rite. Over 38 years, he built a successful career as a manager of logistics at A.E.D.C. Further, he was an avid sportsman and a man of eclectic taste. He was a well-respected member of the community who was loved by most and respected by all. Kenneth established and maintained lifelong friendships within his community that he highly treasured. However, his greatest source of pride was found in his children and grandchildren. To his family, he was the rock and the glue that held their world together. He is survived by his wife, Jennie W. Cowan; his daughter Joy C. Spencer (Bruce); his son, Kenneth D. Cowan, Jr. (Allison); and his grandchildren, H. Bruce Spencer, Jr., Blake Cowan Spencer and Sarah Roselea Cowan. He died at home on September 11, 2012 surrounded by his family.
