Interment: West Bend Cemetery ~ West Bend, Iowa Margaret Emma Marie Gingerich was born July 5, 1922, in Whittemore, Iowa, the daughter of Louis and Margaret (Kroeger) Braatz. She grew up in Whittemore where she attended St. Paul's Lutheran School. On September 27, 1942, Margaret was united in marriage to Clyde Gingerich in Whittemore. After their marriage Clyde was serving in the military and upon his honorable discharge they settled in West Bend. In 1971, they moved to Algona where Margaret did a lot of babysitting. Margaret enjoyed spending her time quilting, sewing, cooking, baking and babysitting. She was a member of Trinity Lutheran Church, the Ladies Aid, Lutheran Layman's League, Good Samaritan Society Auxiliary and the American Legion and VFW Auxiliaries. Margaret died Saturday, June 26, 2010, at the Algona Manor Care Center. She was 87. Margaret is survived by her husband, Clyde of Algona; children, Jean and Weldon Mersiovsky of Walburg, TX; Gary Gingerich of Algona; grandchildren, Brian and Laura Mersiovsky, Alison and Andrew Kieschnick, Sara and Jason Rice, Jeremy and Dawn Hess, Jason and Wendy Hess; great-grandchildren, Micah, N...[more]

Also surviving are sisters, Ella Vaudt of Foley, MN; Ruth Braatz of Janesville, WI, and numerous nieces and nephews. She was preceded in death by her parents; infant daughters, Louise Ann and Carol Lynn; daughter, Joan Hess; son, Keith Gingerich; brothers, Louis, Robert and Werner Braatz and sisters, Laura Braatz and Dorothy Bender.
