Pleas Don Dewayne Ashley, age 65 of Winchester, passed away on Sunday, June 11, 2017 at his residence. A native of Franklin County, he was born on June 24, 1951 to Pleas and Annie Ashley. Don was a retired truck driver, and he was a member of Our Fathers House in Cowan where he attended church as well as Decherd Christian Church. He enjoyed watching wrestling, fishing, and mowing grass. In addition to his parents, he is preceded in death by his brother, William Ashley; and sisters, Mary Bell Kelly and Hazel Gilliam. Don is survived by daughters, Athena Ripley of Grand Rapids, Michigan and Cynthia Sanders of Winchester; sister, Luevena Sims of Winchester; and special friend, Alta Mae Branch of Winchester; several grandchildren, great-grandchildren, nieces, and nephews; and a host of friends. Visitation will be from 5-8 PM on Monday and Tuesday at Moore-Cortner Funeral Home. Funeral Services will be held at 3:00 PM on Wednesday, June 14, 2017 in the Moore-Cortner Chapel with Bro.
