Jack Eugene Roeding was born on August 9, 1940, in Waterloo, the son of Arthur and Edith Roeding. He was one of fifteen siblings. Jack began helping on the family farm at a very young age. On May 21, 1979, he was united in marriage to Myrtle Johnson. She preceded him in death in 2006. Jack was a dishwasher at the Colony Club for 34 years and was a member of Grace Reformed Church for 12 years. He enjoyed horses, watching Western movies, getting together with family, helping around the house, going to church, and his two parakeets, Petey and Poppy. Jack died at the age of 77 on Friday, October 20, 2017, at Covenant Medical Center in Waterloo. He was preceded in death by his parents; his wife; a granddaughter, Ann Marie Price; and brothers and sisters. Jack is survived by two step sons, James Johnson and Rick (Kelly) Price all of Waterloo; two step daughters, Barb (Brian) Cook and Vicky (Mitch) Johnson all of Texas; five grandchildren, Amanda Price, Jeremiah Johnson, Heather Johnson, Angela Cook, and Shaun Cook; and brothers and sisters.
