After graduating high school, Doug received a scholarship to wrestle at the University of Colorado where he was one of their all-time winningest wrestlers during his college career. He qualified for the National Olympic Freestyle wrestling tryouts in New York.
After graduating from CU, he went on to teach for the Boulder Valley School District at Fairview High School, retiring in 2000. He coached wrestling and was a volunteer for Fellowship of Christian Athletes. He never really retired though, as he always enjoyed a hard day's work and a good workout.
Doug was a selfless man, always putting ...[more]
others before himself. He was a lifelong athlete and outdoorsman who loved to fly fish, camp and climb. He will be fondly remembered for his orneriness, great sense of humor, strength and grace.
Faith and family were most important to him and he is now home with his Lord and Savior Jesus Christ.
