WESLACO - Rosendo Perez, 58, passed away on Sunday, October 22, 2017, at Knapp Medical Center in Weslaco after a lengthy battle with several illnesses. He was born on April 10th, 1959, to Felipe Perez and Yrenia Rosales in Weslaco, TX. He grew up in Weslaco, with four sisters, Esther, Irene, Ida and Diana, and two brothers, Felipe Jr. and Francisco. After graduating from Weslaco High, Rosendo attended Pan American University. Rosendo also served in the National Guard for many years and really enjoyed serving his community and country.

Rosendo was a very good sales person and he was always a lot of fun to be around. Many will remember him from his many years at Block Auto Sales in Donna, where he spent most of his career alongside his father, Felipe Perez Sr.

Rosendo was always the life of the party. He loved the outdoors and spent many weekends and evenings hunting and fishing. He could spend hours at a time on the water or just enjoying nature. ly. He had a fun personality and loved to tell jokes. He was able to make any somber moment into one of laughter and fun.

Rosendo is preceded in death by his father, Felipe Perez. He is survived by his mom, Yrenia Rosales of Weslaco, his daughters, Amy Perez and Rosie Perez of Corpus Christi, his sisters, Ida Aguilar (Tony Aguilar) of Robstown, Esther P. Recio (Victor) of Corpus Christi, Irene Hernandez of Corpus Christi, his brothers, Felipe Perez Jr. (Jesusita) of Donna, Diana Perez of Weslaco, and Francisco Perez (Melissa) of Tennessee, and numerous nephews and nieces.

Visitation will be held on Friday, October 27th, from 9am-1:45 pm, with a mass being held at 2 pm, at St. Pius in Weslaco. Burial will follow at Sacred Park Cemetery in Mercedes.
