er husband John Hodgson at St. Joseph's Catholic Church in Keighley-Yorkshire, England. After corresponding with her sister Margaret in Iowa, they decided Le Mars would be a great place to raise a family. In April of 1956, they arrived on the Queen Mary in New York City and eventually made their home in Le Mars. She is the mother of five daughters and three sons. In her early years she raised her family, and made sure they received a Catholic education. She was very devoted to her Catholic Faith. When her youngest children were in middle school, she took a job with Floyd Valley Hospital in Le Mars in the Dietary department until her retirement in 1991. She loved to cook for the patients, staff, and visitors, always finding time to visit them personally with their meal. She was known to add a desert or two.She was a member of All Saints Parish-St. Joseph's Catholic Church for the past 58 years, where she was active in the choir for 40 plus years. She loved to sing her Church hymns while doing normal housework. She was very proud of her singing talents. Her favorite times were spent with her grandkids, attending their ballgames, knitting and sewing any clothing item you could wear. She loved to bake all of her British recipes from the best sugar cookies to her Yorkshire pudding and gravy. Her favorite times were hosting her English tea parties, where she shared her British heritage, including using all of her English tableware from the cloth napkins to her Lady Diana teacups.In February of 2010, Patricia became a resident of Plymouth Manor Care Center in Le Mars and resided there for nearly eight years. She was lovingly cared for by all of the staff at Plymouth Manor. Survivors include her seven children: Jayne (Tom) Ryan of Le Mars, Karen (Roger) Pitts of Le Mars, Anthony Hodgson of Omaha, Patrick (Cathy) Hodgson of Ft. Worth, TX, Michael (Kristi) Hodgson of Le Mars, Maureen (David) Gustafson of Rapid City, SD, and Katie (Bryan) Hodgson of Sioux City; sixteen grandchildren; eight great grandchildren; two brothers: Colin (Valerie) Butler and Farrel (Molly) Butler, both of England; a sister: Sheila Thompson of St. Joe, MO; and brothers-in-law; Vern Varenhorst of Storm Lake, IA and Joe Neff of St. Joseph, MO.She was preceded in death by her parents; her husband John; a daughter, Shaune Hodgson; three sisters: Eileen Neff, Margaret "Jane" Varenhorst, and Winifred Addyman; a brother-in-law, Lyndon Addyman, a sister-in-law, Marjorie Hodgson; her husband's parents, John and Marian Hodgson.
