Taylor Schae Hattan, 23, passed away unexpectedly on Oct. 21, 2017, in Fort Collins. She was born Dec. 9, 1993, in Fort Collins to Lori Hattan. She attended Rocky Mountain High School and married James Steffan on Feb. 27, 2013. They had one daughter, Braylen Steffen, 3. Taylor, also known as "Tator Tot" or "T," loved her daughter and being a mother. She was always nurturing and giving, with motherhood coming naturally to her. When she was hired as a personal-care provider at New Mercer Commons, attending to the elderly and disabled individuals, Taylor was thrilled to find her calling: caring for others who are often forgotten by society. She enjoyed bowling and swimming, which also came easy, and watching scary movies - a pastime she shared with her sisters and cousins, often without their parents' permission. A generous heart, Taylor loved Christmas and birthdays, giving everyone gifts every year, even if it was her own possession.
