Lowell E. Newhall, 88, of Dumont, Iowa, passed away February 23, 2011, at the Franklin General Hospital in Hampton, Iowa. He was born November 17, 1922, in Hadley, Minnesota, to George and Emma (Bessman) Newhall. Lowell graduated from Iowa Falls High School. He served his country in the United States Army during the Korean War. Lowell was united in marriage to Marrian Lindaman in 1953 in Nashua, Iowa. He farmed his entire life. Lowell was a wonderful gardener and took great pride in the harvest. He had a special way with animals and his livestock. Lowell loved to buy, sell and collect antiques and had a special interest in antique machinery. He always had time for children in his life, especially his two grandchildren and two great grandsons. Lowell competed in wrestling in high school and he enjoyed watching it later in life. He is survived by his wife Marrian Newhall of Dumont, son Russell (Rebbeca) Newhall, daughter Marcia Roll, granddaughter Alicia (Eli) Varrelmann, grandson Thomas Newhall, great grandsons Willhelm and Brooks Varrelmann, along with numerous brother-in-laws, sister-in-laws, nieces and nephews.
