enjoyed sewing for family and friends. Many a night she would burn the midnight oil working on her next project. Alice was also a long time Volunteer at Finley Hospital, with more than 2000 Volunteer hours to her credit. She held various jobs including: Sears Catalog Department, Northwest Fabrics, Hal Judge Interiors, Stampfers, and Rosheks. However her most enjoyable job was as an Elevator Operator at the American Trust Main Bank for 33 years, retiring in April 2015, where she made many lasting friendships. Alice was a woman of strong faith. She was confirmed at St. Paul's Lutheran Church, Delaware Iowa. Later becoming a member of First Lutheran Church in Manchester, and lastly, a faithful member of Holy Trinity Lutheran Church in Dubuque, for more than 50 years. She was preceded in death by her parents; Louie and Pearl Claus; In-laws, Edith and Forest Arnold; her husband Melvin in 1977; a sister and brother-in-law, Virginia and David Schmidt; sister-in-law, Doris and brother-in law, Orville Thomas. She is survived by her children, Debra (Steve) Pascoe, of Beaver Dam, Wisconsin, Mark (Donita) Arnold, and Brian (Annette) Arnold, all of Dubuque. Also left to cherish her memory are her Grandchildren; Sara (Scott), Beth (Justin), Nick (Kate), and Zach (Katie). 7 Step Grandchildren, 9 Great Grandchildren, and 12 Step-Great Grandchildren. Along with a brother-in-law, Milton (Onalee) Arnold of Marion, IA, Cousins, and valued friends.
