Betty R. Eland , 83, of Burlington, died at 11:23 PM Friday, October 27, 2017, at the Danville Care Center.
She was born August 25, 1934, in Burnside, IL. On March 8, 1969, she married Edward Charles Eland in Las Vegas, NV.
She worked doing production in her early years at Schaffer Pen and Sylvania before becoming the full-time bookkeeper for Ed's TV Sales and Service.
She enjoyed traveling and shopping for clothes. She enjoyed being outside, particularly sunbathing. She also liked to cook and bake. She loved spending time with her grandchildren and spoiling them, and enjoyed purchasing whacky Christmas presents for her family and friends. She had a great sense of humor and was very kind.
Survivors include her husband; one son, Frank (Michele) Kiener of Norwalk, IA; one daughter, Lana (Richard) Butler of Norfolk, VA; two step-daughters, Dawn Feder of Missouri, and Laurie (Steve) Rathbun of Wever, IA; seven grandchildren; six great-grandchildren; one sister, Maxine Cumalander of Fort Madison; and several nieces and nephews.
She was preceded in death by her parents, one grandson, Samuel Kiener, and 10 siblings.
p>Visitation will be from 1:00 PM until 2:00 PM, Friday, November 3, 2017 at Prugh~Thielen Funeral Home.
The funeral service for Mrs. Eland will be 2:00 PM Friday, November 3, 2017, at Prugh~Thielen Funeral Home with Reverend Dean Graber officiating. Burial will be in Moss Ridge Cemetery at a later date.
A memorial has been established.
