dedicated to his customers, and he was particularly proud of converting the University of Iowa Hospitals from an autoclave system to disposable products, reducing patients' risk of infection. After retirement, he opened an antique store in Moline, Illinois and later another shop in Aledo, Illinois. He loved antiques, and antique marbles in particular. He was an avid hunter and fisherman, and enjoyed annual fishing trips to Northern Minnesota with his family and friends. He followed every sport and was especially fond of the Iowa Hawkeyes, Chicago Cubs, and Chicago Bears. He was a proud member of the Golden Hawks I-Club and Presidents Club for many years and attended countless Iowa football and basketball games. John enjoyed spending time with his family and pets. He was an animal lover and dearly loved every dog he ever had. John is survived by his wife, Nancy; children, John (Diana) Pratt of Walker, MN, and Jennifer (Thomas) McNamara of Grand Rapids, MI; two grandchildren, Blake Pratt and Brandon (Jennifer) Pratt; and four great-grandchildren. He is also survived by three sisters, Catherine Cordova of Tucson, AZ; Margarette (Steve) Johnson of Davenport, IA; Carolyn Moyer of Bloomington, IL; and a niece and nephews.
