Peace Church, she was a team leader at TEC's (Teens Encounters Christ). She joined CFM early in the 1960's and became group leader, they were very active in the Cursillo movement in the mid 1960's. She and her husband cofounded the Freedom Singers youth group with Lee and Barb Bianchi and Father Steve Eble. She was involved with Marriage Encounter in the mid 1970's and served on the Davenport Dioceses ME board. Nancy and Dick served as president couple of the Davenport board from the mid to late 1980's. She was member of the Democratic Party, serving as a delegate to many county conventions and the district and state convention in 2008.
Nancy was a Brownie assistant leader, a Girl Scout leader and the Cub Scout den mother. She dearly loved her children, their spouses and grandchildren. She enjoyed spending time traveling with her husband, they traveled to many places abroad and to all but one of the 50 states. Nancy had an emotional experience while walking on the land that had been in the family of her Norwegian ancestors since before 1450.
She loved dancing with her husband and was a very talented water-skier; spending many hours on the Mississippi River.
Nancy is survived by her husband Richard of Clinton; four children: Michelle (Wesley) Letcher of Fulton, Karen (Mike) Metheny of Lexington, Kentucky, Patrick (Sue) Roberts of West Des Moines, and Susan Roberts of New York City, New York; seven grandchildren: Nathan Letcher, JulieAnne and Zachary Metheny, Joanna, Christian Ryan and Isabel Roberts; and one sister-in-law: Barb Opheim of Clinton.
She was preceded in death by her parents, two brothers, and one sister.
