a favorite playing partner of many friends over the years. She was an active member of Tri T. She also enjoyed golfing in Door County, Wisconsin and fishing in Minnesota and Wisconsin. Ellie was a devoted mother and grandmother, enjoying nothing more than snuggling with a grandchild on her lap to read a story. She was a wonderful hostess, entertaining friends and family with marvelous meals, great company and lots of laughter. Her long and happy life included many joys and successes. In recent years, she was challenged by Alzheimer 's disease but never lost her kindness and gratitude for her caregivers. Her sweet smile will be missed by many. Memorial services to celebrate her life will be held at 10:30 am Sat., Nov. 11th at Koning Chapel, Ridgecrest Village, Davenport where her family will greet friends from 9 am until time of service. A private inurnment will be in the National Cemetery, Rock Island, where military honors will be conducted. In lieu of other expressions of sympathy, memorials may be made to Ridgecrest Foundation - Koning Charitable Fund, or to the Alzheimer's Association local chapter. The family would like to express their deep gratitude to the Ridgecrest staff and administration.
