wn plane until retirement. After retirement, Rushing spent most of his time on the golf course. He enjoyed playing golf with many of his friends at San Angelo Country Club and Alto Lakes Country Club in New Mexico. Mr. Sheffield is survived by his wife of 65 years, Gloria Sheffield. His daughter Valerie Warneke, son-in-law Jamey Warneke, and his grandchildren, which he adored, Jenna and Ryan Warneke. He is also survived by his close companion, "Lexie Dog". He was preceded in death by his parents, R.O. and Pauline Sheffield, sister, Stevie Ray Sheffield, brother, Billy Carl Sheffield and son Doyle Lee Sheffield. Rushing will always be remembered as having a heart as big as his personality. A visitation will be held Thursday, November 2, 2017 from 5:00 PM to 7:00 PM at Harper Funeral Home. A funeral service will be held Friday November 3 at 11:00 AM at Harper Funeral Home.
