d his career in sales at the age of 13, at Foster Drug doing anything that was asked of him. This strong work ethic continued as he was in retail and sales for the rest of his life. He worked for Gibson stores, Walgreens, Coast to Coast, then Hillman Fastners. Jim was a traveling salesman for many years and won many awards for the achievements that he attained. After officially retiring, he continued to work part-time with Hillman for an additional 10 years with his wife at his side, traveling throughout the United States. He enjoyed seeing the countryside scenery. His motto was "I'm mixing pleasure with work."
He enjoyed sharing wisdom and life experiences with his family, especially giving financial and business advice to his grandchildren. Jim is so very proud of each one of them and their accomplishments. His hobbies included fishing, camping, hunting, assembling puzzles, watching John Wayne movies, reading westerns, and he was a major history buff and avid Fox News viewer. When Jim walked into a room he had a smile and a joke, followed by a deep laugh that was contagious. This is what we will always remember and miss.
Jim is survived by his wife H. Barbara (Braun), daughters Cindy R. Urlacher (Marvin) and Cheryl A. Colebank (Perry). His grandchildren Matthew J. Urlacher, Tori G. Sailor (Ryan), Michael J. Urlacher (Michelle), Tyler L. Colebank, Steven J. Urlacher (Samantha) and Briton S. Farley. Jim was blessed to have 5 great-grandchildren. He was preceded in death by his parents, his brothers Kenneth and Thomas, and his two sons James A. Farley Jr. and Terry L. Adam.
