e of a kind. The proof of this is in his ability to take his interest and passion for waterfowl hunting and create a product like Big Foot Decoys. "Big Art" revolutionized the industry. To this day, some 33 years later, his ideas still stand the test of time and are the models for which all subsequent products are judged by. He approached his life and his business the old fashioned way. He under promised and over delivered with a handshake to seal the deal.
Those that knew Art knew he was at his happiest during duck hunting season with family and friends and with his favorite black lab by his side.
He married Sandra Fischlein on June 20, 1958 in Princeton, Iowa, they had three children Laura, Franci, and Greg. He was a lifetime sponsor of Ducks Unlimited, and was inducted into the Outdoor Hall of Fame in 2012.
Art is survived by his wife: Sandy of DeWitt, one daughter: Franci (Todd Jepsen) Ladehoff of Clinton, one son: Greg (Mechelle) Ladehoff of DeWitt; and three granddaughters: Lindsay Kahler, and Ellie and Annie Ladehoff. He was preceded in death by his parents, one daughter: Laura; one brother: David; and two sisters: Sherrianna and Diane.
