Kenneth Enke, 68, of Burlington, passed away at 8:00 AM Sunday, November 5, 2017, at the Great River Klein Center in West Burlington following a courageous battle with Parkinson's Disease.
Born July 26, 1949, in Burlington, he was the son of James Merle and Janet Marie Hutchcroft Enke. On April 10, 1971, he married Karen Lynn Schwerin at the Emmanuel Lutheran Church, Mediapolis, IA.
Kenneth was a high school teacher for the Wapello School District for 35 years, and was a lifelong farmer.
He was a 1967 graduate of Winfield High School, Winfield, IA. He received his Bachelors of Science from Iowa Wesleyan College in 1971.
He was of the Methodist faith. He enjoyed family vacations, sports, music concerts, movies, and was a St. Louis Cardinal and Iowa Hawkeye fan.
Survivors include his wife; one son, Kyle Enke of North Liberty; one daughter, Kara Stalder of Mount Pleasant; two grandchildren, Brett Stalder and James Enke; his father; one brother, Dean Enke of Coralville; one sister, Roberta Johnson of Morning Sun; and several nieces and nephews.
He was preceded in death by his mother and grandparents.
