Josephine W. Williams, age 79, of Stanton, Iowa, passed away Sunday, November 6, 2017 at the Accura Healthcare in Stanton, Iowa. Josephine was born April 16, 1938 in Purcell, Oklahoma the daughter of William C. and Ruie E. (Snow) Slate. She was raised in Texas and was united in marriage to David Williams on February 28, 1953 in Midland, Texas. Josephine moved to Red Oak, Iowa in 2005 to be near her daughter, Tammy Glasgo. Josephine was a homemaker who loved raising her family, listening to music, was an avid Dallas Cowboys fan, and was a member of the Baptist Church.
Preceding her in death was her parents; her husband; and sisters: Irene and Lois. Survivors include her children: Tammy Glasgo and husband Curtis of Elliott, IA; Lanelle Caudle and husband Dickie of Granbury, TX; and Mary Parlee and husband William of Granbury, TX; 9 grandchildren; many great grandchildren; sisters: Stacy Howard of Slater, MO; Patricia Slate of Wichita, KS; Sande Faye Stroud of Wichita, KS; Donna Putman of Harper, KS; and Mary Dennis of Kansas; brothers: Sonny Slate of Hobbs, NM and John Slate; brother-in-law: Thomas Williams of Hobbs, NM; and many other relatives and friends.
