On October 31, 2017 Lillie Mae ("Bunnie") Hendrix/Tracy/McGill was taken by God as she slept and joined her parents and siblings in heaven. Lillie Mae Poplin was born in Coweta, OK on May 25, 1924. She was given the nickname "Bunnie" as a girl and continued to go by that name for life. She grew up on a farm in Coweta with 11 other siblings, all which preceded her in death---. After high school she went to work delivering mail for an airplane manufacturer during World War II. She married Lloyd W. Hendrix in Tulsa OK on March 6, 1943, with their their first daughter born the following October. They would have two more daughters and three sons. During those years her husband worked for the government and the family moved far and often, living in OK, TX, PA, MD, NV, WY, NJ & CO and even overseas in Morocco. The moving stopped when the family arrived in Longmont in 1969, with three children living at home. After a divorce from her first husband in 1974, she married Roger Tracy of Longmont. They were a great match and traveled together extensively until he was diagnosed with cancer and passed away. She would marry once more to Wayne McGill, a widower. Their marriage...[more]
sted 21 years until his accidental death in 2010. Bunnie worked for the Green Sage and Joslins in Longmont. She enjoyed working with people and these jobs suited her well. She was also active in her church and had fun with a local singing group that performed for many rest homes. She enjoyed babysitting children at Central Presbyterian and had many friends she kept in touch with. She loved music and would dance around the house and sing along with pop, rock or country. She enjoyed dressing up and going out for dinner, a movie or concert. She moved into Hover Manor in May 2015 and enjoyed not having anything to worry about. She would move one more time to Lakeview Commons in Loveland. She is survived by her six children from her first marriage. They are daughters Andy, Wendy and Lesley; and sons Kenny, Vincent and Steven. She was a loving mom and friend to all of her children, a very popular grandmother and great grandmother. She will be greatly missed and thought of often. We love you Bunnie! A celebration of her life will be held at 11 am, Thursday, Nov. 16th at Central Presbyterian Church, 402 Kimbark St., Longmont.
