George Apostle, age 94, passed away on Tuesday evening November 7, 2017 in Muskegon. He was born on June 6, 1923 in Lawrence, Massachusetts to the late Nickolas and Angelina (Kremidas) Apostle. George was the lead navigator of the 15th Air Force during World War II. He was the former owner of both Balbirnie - Apostle Mortuary and the State Café Gay 90's Restaurant and Bar for over 50 years. He was a past member of St. Pauls Episcopal Church and current member of the Annunciation Greek Orthodox Church of Muskegon. George was the past president of AHEPA. He is survived by a daughter Blandy Apostle, a son George Apostle, a granddaughter Tegan Apostle, his ex wife Joan Harvey and three special friends Shirley Gilling and Paul and Pat Ladas. Per Georges request cremation will take place and there will be a Memorial service at a later date. Memorial contributions may be made to the Leila and Cyrus Poppen Hospice Residence.
