n tending to her yard. More often, she was "out and about", working out at Stonehill Wellness Center, bowling, and going to lunch with her bowling friends. In fact, she engaged in all three of these activities in the week leading up to her last day with us. Anna Mae was an avid bowler across a span of more than sixty years. She was active in the Dubuque Women's Bowling Association, coached junior bowlers, and earned distinction as a DWBA Hall of Fame recipient in 1994. Anna Mae enjoyed occasional travels, especially her trips with Carl, son, Rick and wife, Lisa to Hawaii; and to New York City with her sister, Betty. She valued time with her family, and delighted in every new addition, initialing another stocking to hang for the holidays.
Anna Mae walked with a spring in her step, especially if she was headed to a meal somewhere. She had a remedy or an exercise for every malady (Pressure Points!), didn't act her age, still drove her car, and led a busy, active lifestyle all the way to the finish line. Family members had been planning her 90th Birthday Party celebration; and now celebrate her full life, a reminder to focus on the good, forgive the bad, and hold tight to those we love.
For Anna Mae, her sons were "her everything". She was so proud of her boys and their families.
Surviving are her four sons -- Daniel (Wanda) Loewen of Baldwin, IA, Roger (Donna) Loewen of Dubuque, IA, Gregory (Susie) Loewen of Glendale, AZ and Rick (Lisa) Loewen of Chandler, AZ; her grandchildren -- Jesse (Traci) Loewen, Lee (Ben) Symonds, Tanner (Cortney) Loewen, Cale (Micaela) Loewen, Bea Loewen, Sarah (John) Gregory, Matthew (Natalie) Loewen, Jessica (John) Droghetti and Luke Loewen; her great grandchildren -- Cole Loewen, Ellis Mae Symonds, Krue Jobgen; Nash, Ridge and Knox Loewen, Madaline and Emma Gregory, and Levi and Avery Mae Loewen; her brother, Robert Brooks; her sister, Betty Jane Kuntz of Dubuque, IA; her sisters-in-law, Shirley Brooks of Kentucky and Mary Hocking of Marion, IA; her brother-in-law, Al (Bunny) Loewen of Dubuque, IA; and many nieces and nephews.

In lieu of flowers, an Anna Mae Loewen Memorial Fund has been established.
