She grew up and was confirmed in the Zion Lutheran Church in Ogden. Later she joined the United Methodist Church where she was a member until her death.
During her life she enjoyed cross-stitch sewing, solving crossword puzzles and travel. She and Warren traveled extensively in the United States and Canada, and had an undying love for the Rocky Mountains and Estes Park, Colorado, in particular. They traveled overseas to the Far East, the Balkan countries and Turkey; both times visiting their son who was stationed in those areas with the United States Air Force.
Ruth was preceded in death by her parents and brother, Carl. She is survived by husband Warren, son Mike, daughter-in-law LaVonne and grandson Ryan, grand daughter-in-law Tonia, and great grand-daughter Riley Grace, of Birmingham, Alabama.
Her wish was for cremation followed by spreading of her ashes in Rocky Mountain National Park above Estes Park.
