Antiques were her passion. She maintained a booth at Concho Confetti Antique Mall for many years. Over the years, she was a member of the First United Methodist Church, active in the DAV, United Methodist Women, and served as a foster mother for numerous foster children. She taught Sunday School at Day Memorial UMC and was a member of the quilting club. She spent many years keeping numerous grandchildren to help her children out.
Lelia is proceeded in death by her parents Earl & Lilly Mae, love of her life, Jerald Pate, In-laws Wylie & Lela Pate, brothers Earl Ayers Jr., Harold Ray Ayers (& Elizabeth), John Alton Ayers (& Claudia), sister LaDelle Carter(& Lonnie), and sister-in-law Wanda Dickson (& W.H.) and "number one" son-in-law Robert Sterling Price, Sr. Also preceding her was her sweet soul mate, Wayne Rautenberg.
She is survived by her children, Darylene Sheldon (& Joseph), Cherylene Price, Deborah Boatright (& Calvin Jr.), Chandra Harris (& Glenn), Myron Pate (& Mary Ellen), 17 grandchildren and spouses, 31 great-grandchildren and spouses, 4 great-great-grandchildren, her unofficial adopted daughter Sue Ramsey Gomez (& Luis), sister Mary Ann Hill, sister-in-law Betty Ayers, and extended family too numerous to count. Family was everything to Lelia.
Visitation will be held on Monday, November 13th from 6-8 pm at Johnson Funeral Home. Funeral services will be held on Tuesday, November 14th at 10am at Johnson's Funeral Home. Burial will follow at Lawnhaven Memorial Gardens. In lieu of flowers, the family requests donations be made to the charity of your choice in her memory.
